Exhaust

Headers are a must for any performance build, but they are a great addition to even a stock V8. These Headman 1 5/8″ headers are a good choice for a healthy small block V8 and  can support some decent upgrades like higher than stock flowing heads and a nice cam. I ran these headers on my 1983 C10 with a 350 ci V8 with 180cc RHS heads and a decent sized cam for several years. For the price, I was very pleased. Note that you will need to ensure these will fit your specific truck model.

Obviously, muffler choice is largely centered on personal preference, so you’ll have to decide what you like the sound of for yourself. My personal favorite muffler is the Flowmaster two-chamber 44 series. The Flowmaster 40 and 44 series mufflers provide the best tone of any other muffler, in my opinion. I have always personally ran the 44s for their slightly more aggressive sound. These 2.5″ center in / 2.5″ center  out are the ones I ran on my 1983 C10, but you’ll need to double check the specs to ensure they are the right ones for your application. If you’d like to hear some good clips of these on a 350 with heads and cam upgrade, check out this video
