Taillights are a great way to freshen up a classic truck’s back end. Below are some great options for a very affordable price. These are advertised to fit 1973-1991 GM C/k Series Trucks and SUVs. Whether you want OEM replacements, a euro-style or clear look, or you’d like to blackout your current taillights or some new OEM replacements, below are some good options.
Aftermarket OEM Replacements
If you’re looking to replace your old, faded and scratched up taillights but want to maintain the stock look, these taillights are a great choice. I actually have these on my personal 1983 Chevy C10 squarebody. These are also a great option if you plan to black-out your taillights with tent or paint. Note that these do not include bulbs or wiring; they only replace the taillight housing and lenses.
Aftermarket Custom-Style Taillights
If you like a more modified look, check out these taillights. These, like the OEM replacement styles, directly replace the stock taillight assembly and are a great way to significantly change to look of the rear of your truck without spending much money. These only serve visual purposes; they do not replace the bulbs or wiring of your stock taillight.
If you like black accents, these taillights may be what you’re looking for. They provide custom look beyond just blacked out look. Again, these are only for visual purposes; they only replace the housing and lense of your taillights.
If you already have a clean set of OEM style taillights but would like a blacked-out look, you can tint them or pray paint themusing special taillight paint. You can also use taillight tint, but in my experience, paint works better (just remember it is permanent). I’ve used VHT Night Shade on several of my own trucks and highly recommend it.
